DNS Hosting

If you are planning to have a domain name registered, you have probably heard of DNS hosting? But what is DNS hosting, and how is it different from domain registration?

Although there is an actual DNS hosting service, it is usually included as one of the services of the domain name registrars. This should mean that DNS hosting is a service included in registration. DNS stands for domain name system, and this is the system wherein all the domain names of all the websites are placed, so web browsers can locate a website on the internet. A domain name registrar does not only register the domain name to your name and your website; the registrar also hosts the domain name for you, so you can use the domain name for a specified period of time.

But more than that, DNS hosting allows you to manage the settings of your DNS. Remember that registering the domain name is one thing; being able to manage the domain name and, in turn, the URL or web address of your website is another. This is pretty much like web hosting; a web hosting service includes the space for your files. But besides that, the web hosting service is essential because it provides you with the essential tools so you can manage your website properly and freely, something you cannot do with free web hosts.

So, in the end, this is essentially the important of DNS hosting; it affords you the freedom to manage DNS settings.
